Tata Group Secures IPL Title Sponsorship for Record Amount of Rs 2500 Crore

New Delhi – Tata Group has bagged the title sponsorship of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the next 5 years for a record amount. Tata will give the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) USD 300 million (roughly Rs. 2,500 crore) as the main sponsorship for the period 2024-2028. With this, Tata will spend 500 crore rupees per year for IPL.

Tata is currently the main sponsor of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). In 2022, Tata became the main sponsor of the IPL, surpassing Vivo. The contract was for Rs 350 crore then. The BCCI pulled out of the deal with Vivo citing Chinese links. Fantasy gaming, betting apps, sportswear and liquor companies were also banned from the sponsorship auction.
