New Delhi: Tata Motors has hiked passenger vehicle prices by an average of 0.9 per cent due to rising production costs.
The price of Tata Motors passenger vehicles has gone up significantly from today.
“From January 19, 2022, an average price increase of 0.9 per cent will take effect depending on the type and model of car,” Tata Motors said in a statement.
While the company is absorbing a significant portion of the increased costs, the steep rise in overall input costs is forced to overcome certain rates through minimal price increases.
However, Tata Motors has reduced the price to Rs 10,000 in certain categories to protect the interests of its customers.
The company said that customers who booked their vehicles on or before January 18, 2022 will not be affected by the price increase as they will be offered vehicles at the old price.

Auto companies have been raising the price of vehicles since last year as input costs have risen. Last month, Tata Motors increased the prices of its commercial vehicles.
Tata Motors has said it will raise the price of commercial vehicles by 2.5 per cent from January 1, 2022.
Maruti Suzuki India (Maruti cars), the country’s largest carmaker, has hiked car prices by 4.3 per cent to offset the impact of rising input costs.
It is noteworthy that Maruti has already raised prices three times in the last year alone.
