It is offered with a 5-speed manual transmission. The new Tata Altroz CNG and Punch CNG models can be started directly from CNG mode. Usually compared to the petrol variant of the cars, the CNG version has less boot space.

However, the twin-cylinder variant that Tata is exploring is offered with a 60-litre gas tank. Accordingly the boot space of the car is not affected. Other than the i-CNG badge, no other changes have been made to the bootlid. And its interior looks the same without any changes. Of the two cars, the Altroz model will have premium features.

The Altroz CNG model will compete with the Baleno CNG and Clanza CNG models in the Indian market. This model offers rear AC vents, front center armrest, touch screen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity, automatic climate control, height adjustable driver’s seat, engine start/stop button.

No model is available in the market till now to compete with the new Tata Punch CNG model. However, it is said that Hyundai may introduce an all-new micro SUV model before the end of this year to change this situation. Also, it is said that this model will be offered with a CNG powertrain option.
