Tata Group is preparing for a crackdown on the Chinese border. In fact, Tata is preparing to set up a chipset plant in the border area of China, which was proud of being a semiconductor hub, hearing which China has been left stunned. Actually, China is the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturing country, which is used in every electronic item including cars and mobiles. To set up this semiconductor plant, Tata Group has signed a lease agreement for 60 years with the government of Assam, a border state of China. It will be set up in Morigaon district of Assam. For this, a huge investment of Rs 27,000 crore is being made by Tata Group.

Where will the semiconductor plant be built

Tata Group will build its semiconductor plant at the former Hindustan Paper Corporation site in Assam. For this, a huge amount of Rs 27,000 crore will be invested by Tata Group. The first phase of this plant will start by mid-2025. About 30 thousand people are expected to get employment from this unit.

India will fulfill the needs of the whole world

Tata says that this plant will be able to meet the entire world’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) semiconductor demand. This will meet the needs of industry and consumer electronics. Tata will work on wire bond, flip chip and integrated system packaging (ISP) technology in this plant.

Assam CM had already announced

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma had said that he had a discussion with the Tata leadership and talks were held to set up a semiconductor plant, where work will be done to boost artificial intelligence, semiconductor and electronics sectors. This plant facility will become operational by the year 2025.

What is a semiconductor chip?

Semiconductor chips are made from silicon. In simple terms, semiconductors can be called the brain of any electronic device. This chip follows automatic instructions in the electronic device and then works to complete them. Suppose, if you give a command from the remote, your TV or speaker starts working. There is a semiconductor behind this. With time, semiconductors are getting better. Today, semiconductors are used in everything from setting reminders in alarms to automatic cars.

What will be the benefit?

Tata Group is continuously working towards setting up a semiconductor plant in India. If semiconductor production starts in the country, Indian users will benefit from it. First, Indian users will start getting electronic products at cheaper prices. Second, employment will be generated on a large scale in India. Third, India can earn money by exporting semiconductors, which will strengthen India’s economy. Fourth, India has a chance to become a global leader in electronic and mobile manufacturing.

Why does China show bullying?

Semiconductors are used in computers, laptops, mobiles, cars, washing machines, ATMs and all kinds of electronic devices. The reality is that China is the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturing country. In such a situation, a decrease in China’s semiconductor chipset production will reduce the production of electronic goods all over the world, which can make electronic goods expensive. On this basis, China shows its dominance in the world.
