President Ersin Tatar met with Cyprus veterans in Giresun; He emphasized that if the Turkish Cypriot people continue their struggle under the roof of a state today, it is thanks to the martyrs and veterans.

Speaking at the dinner organized by Giresun Municipality in honor of veterans due to Tatar’s visit to Giresun, Tatar expressed his happiness in meeting with veterans and said that veterans are his crowning glory.

Stating that Cyprus went through a lot of pain and that the turning point was July 20, 1974, Tatar noted that Cyprus gained its independence after 1974.

Tatar, who commemorated the veterans who took part in the Peace Operation with gratitude and the martyrs with mercy, said that 50 years have passed since the operation, but when he looks at the veterans today, they continue to struggle for Turkishness in Cyprus and develop the state with the same feelings, with one heart.

Stating that they said “no” to a solution under the federal roof, Tatar said, “There is no north or south anymore, there is a sovereign and independent Turkish state in Cyprus.”

Stating that the TRNC works in full harmony with the Republic of Turkey in the Blue Homeland, airspace and all other areas, Tatar said that they will never become a minority in the Greek Cypriot state within the EU, and that they carry out the new and national politics with great honor with the cooperation of two sovereign and equal states. told.

Tatar, who said, “We will never forget those days, I wish you, our veterans, a long and healthy life,” was also presented with the Honorary Membership Certificate of Giresun Branch of the Turkish War Disabled Veterans, Martyr Widows and Orphans Association.
