Kochi: Last month (July) Tata Motors’ brand new SUV Panch made it to the list of top 10 best selling passenger vehicles (car, SUV, van) in India.
Punch is at the tenth position with sales of 11,007 units. Tata’s compact SUV Nexon is at the fourth position with sales of 14,214 units. Nexon’s advance from 10,287 units in July 2021; Sales growth in July 38 percent.
In the top 10, six models belong to Maruti Suzuki. The first three positions were taken by Maruti’s players. WagonR is the first with 22,588 units. The WagonR has not lost its top spot, though sales were down by one per cent last month from 22,836 units in July 2021.
Swift is second with 17,960 new customers. Sales of Swift advanced 22 percent at 14,729 units. Despite a 5 percent drop in sales, the Baleno took third place. Sales fell to 17,539 units from 18,434 units.
Maruti Dzire took the fifth position with 31 percent sales growth. Sales advanced to 13,747 units from 10,470 last month. Maruti Eeco is sixth; Last month’s sales were 13,048 units with a growth of 30 percent. 10,057 units were newly launched in July 2021.
Maruti S-Preso is at ninth position with 11,268 units. S-Presso’s progress is with 65 percent sales growth from 6,818 units.
At the seventh and eighth positions are Hyundai’s Creta and Venue respectively. Creta gained 12,625 new customers while Venue acquired 12,000. While the Venue posted a 47 percent sales growth, the Creta suffered a three percent loss. Sales of Venue were 8,185 units in July 2021; 13,000 units of Creta.
