Eight months after being released from prison, Yitzhak Aspa returns to the Premier League: M.S. Ashdod signed him up for the current game season. The 23-year-old Aspa played last season for Bnei Yehuda from the National League, and now he will return and play in the senior league – in a team from the port city. Aspa is currently injured, but the team will be able to share him when he recovers.

As a reminder, in September 2018, Aspa was arrested on suspicion of neglecting a couple of minors, after a car accident when he returned from spending time in Tel Aviv. Aspa hit two minors with his car, including the late Ari Nesher, the son of film director Avi Nesher, who was killed in an accident. In January 2020, the District Court in Tel Aviv sentenced him to 4.5 years.

After about a month, his sentence was shortened to three years – and in the end he was released on parole, only two years after entering prison, due to his good behavior. Ten days after he was released, Aspa signed with Bnei Yehuda, but last season he made only two appearances in media, one of them as a substitute. Aspa moved to Bnei Yehuda on loan, and now – he is returning to play in the Premier League.
