Taxation of superprofits: Olivier Faure’s referendum, an obstacle course

It is a legislative process put in place under Nicolas Sarkozy via the constitutional reform of 2008… which the Socialists want to use. In the hope of increasing the pressure on the government and the majority, Olivier Faure, the boss of the PS, proposed Friday August 26 on RTL to his Nupes partners the organization of a referendum of shared initiative (RIP ) on the taxation of superprofits. Clearly, this mechanism allows a bill to be supported by part of the electorate.
