Once again, a taxi driver is once again in police news in Córdoba.
Last week, a driver had been arrested accused of having stolen money from a passenger.
In the last few hours, another driver was detained by the Police after having committed serious violations of the traffic law and in the framework of an extensive chase that extended for 10 kilometers in the Capital.
Fortunately, there were no injuries.
It all started at 1 on Sunday when police personnel learned that a Chevrolet Corsa taxi was going the wrong way on the neuralgic Hipólito Yrigoyen avenue, in the Nueva Córdoba neighborhood of the Capital.
Other vehicles were circulating along the street. Fortunately, there was no collision.
A patrol went to intercept the taxi to stop the violation and identify its driver.
However, far from braking, the driver accelerated and fled, police sources reported.
For this reason, controlled monitoring was carried out along several arteries of the Capital. He even passed through the downtown area.
Hit a barrier
Everything extended to the Military neighborhood, on Ejercito Argentino Avenue. According to official sources, the taxi collided with the security barrier and entered the property. By then, there were already several motives that were chasing him.
Finally, the taxi was stopped.
Its driver, Ricardo Daniel Torres, 35 years old. He was arrested by the uniformed officers.
Police spokespersons indicated that, at the time of the arrest, the man became aggressive towards the staff. However, he was reduced.
The entire procedure was delivered to the area’s judicial unit.
