Luanda – The bonuses and incentives that Yango gives drivers are generating high incomes for drivers and taxi companies that partner with the app, says businesswoman Ludmila Veloso. Yango’s ally since it started in Angola, on April 28 last year, the manager of the company 1NC- 1 Novo Começo explained yesterday, in an interview with Rádio Nova, that Yango’s business model allowed it to acquire 20 own vehicles and managing more than 2,000 taxis. All of this in just over a year.

“In the beginning it was a great adventure”, admits Ludmila Veloso to Rádio Nova. “When Yango arrived in Angola, in 2022, I was one of the contact points and one of the first business partners to work with the app in the country.”

With the help of Yango, and using a loan, he acquired 20 vehicles “at once” which he put into circulation in the streets of Luanda. To help pay for them, it placed “Yango advertising signs on taxis”, a possibility that the application offers to those who work with this technological solution for urban private taxis, and which generates extra income for partners.

Today, the owner of the private taxi company 1NC manages “more than 2,000 vehicles”, all circulating with the Yango app.

The secret of Ludmila Veloso’s success lies, “in hard work”, “in knowing how to deal with the headaches typical of someone who manages more than two thousand drivers” and, above all, “in Yango’s business model” which, among other advantages, “take out loans to help buy vehicles”.

When it comes to doing the math, the businesswoman indicates that Yango’s partner taxi companies “receive 3% of the drivers’ total turnover”, a “percentage that is increasing”. Sums made, this is a high figure.

“A vehicle can make more than 20 races per day. Every month, in my company alone, we have more than 30,000 rides”, he says. In practice, he comments, “a driver is making more than 800,000 kwanzas a month, they are earning very well”. This amount includes Yango’s incentives for drivers, which “were reinforced after the increase in fuel prices”, with a view to “keeping prices low for customers”, indicates Ludmila Veloso.

Happy to have embraced Yango’s challenge, the successful businesswoman invites “all those interested in working with the application not to hesitate”. “The more people who work with Yango, the more we will all gain, and the more we will take advantage of the optimal working conditions that Yango offers us. In addition, it is necessary to make up for the very large transport deficit that still exists ”, she appeals.

Ludmila Veloso also guarantees that Yango “is a safe application”, and calls on passengers to use the available security tools, including “sharing the travel route with friends and family”, the SOS button, which calls directly to the authorities and always communicate with the Yango Call Center.

In the Angolan market since April 28, 2022, Yango currently has more than 40 partner private taxi companies, which manage close to 4,000 drivers.

Within the scope of these partnerships, Yango contributes with the application’s technology, with investment in marketing and Call Center and support in the legalization of taxi companies with the authorities. By absorbing these high costs, Yango’s business model marked a turning point in Angola, helping to boost the companies of small operators that did not have the capacity to compete with applications that had a large structure.
