The singer Taylor Swift publicly expressed his support for the Democratic candidate Kamala Harriswho will face the former president Donald Trump in the upcoming US presidential election.
The well-known and influential American composer expressed her position through social networks, after the presidential debate which took place on the night of Tuesday, September 10.
In her message, Swift encouraged her followers to educate themselves on the topics discussed during the debate and the candidates’ positions on matters crucial to the future of the country. “Like many of you, I watched tonight’s debate. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read as much as I can about your proposed policies and plans for this country.”the artist said.

Taylor Swift supports Kamala Harris
Through a post on Instagram, Taylor Swift revealed who he will vote for in the upcoming elections: “I will cast my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz (…) because she fights for those rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend them”.
The artist also took the opportunity to explain the reasons behind her choice: “I believe she is a strong and talented leader, and that we can achieve much more in this country if we are guided by calm and not chaos.”
“I was very encouraged and impressed by her choice of partner Tim Walz, who has been advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF and a woman’s right over her own body for decades,” the singer continued.

Donald Trump’s response
Upon learning of Taylor Swift’s remarks and stance, the presidential candidate did not hesitate to attack her during a statement to Fox News.
“I wasn’t a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a matter of time. I couldn’t support Biden… But he is a very liberal person. He seems to always support a Democrat, and will probably pay a price for it in the market.”Trump said.
