Taylor Swift continues to break records: tonight (Monday), the American music magazine “Billboard” reported that the singer’s tenth studio album – Midnights, released on October 21, broke sales records in the United States. According to the report, 1.578 million units of the album were sold in one week.

This is the highest sales figure in the week of the launch of a new album in the United States, since Adele’s album 25 was released in December 2015. At that time, the British singer sold 3.482 million copies of the album.

Now, Swift stands together with singer and Oscar-winning actress Barbra Streisand at the top of the ranking of female singers with the greatest number of albums that reached the top of the American “Billboard” sales chart – 11 albums. In addition, she ranks sixth on the list of artists with the most number of albums to reach the top of this chart – after the Beatles, Jay-Z, Drake, Bruce Springsteen and Streisand.

Last week, three days after its release, Midnights took the title of the best-selling album of 2022. At the same time, Swift broke the record for selling copies of a new album, which she set in 2017 with her sixth album Reputation. And if that’s not enough, Swift won the title of the most streamed woman in the history of Spotify.
