Tbilisi celebrates the Day of Azerbaijani National Music

The Tbilisi State Conservatory celebrated Day of Azerbaijani National Music. At an event organized by the Youth Center “Alliance”was attended by a senior official of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia, the rector of the conservatory, teachers and students, as well as members of the Alliance.

As Day.Az was informed on Saturday in the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan, in his speech the rector Georgy Vachinkadze spoke about cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Georgia and highly appreciated the organization of such events, and also expressed gratitude for providing the conservatory with notes of national musical works of six outstanding Azerbaijani composers.

Responsible employee of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia Ramiz Gadzhizadeh spoke about the life and work of the brilliant composer Uzeira Gajibeyli. He called the celebration of the birthday of Uzeyir Hajibeyli and the National Music Day in Tbilisi commendable, and also noted the high level of relations between the two countries, in particular cultural ties.

Then the Chairman of the Center Leila Amrakhova and other participants spoke about the life and work of U. Hajibeyli, the opinions of Georgian cultural and artistic figures about him, as well as Azerbaijani musicians born in Tbilisi.

“Uzeyir Hajibeyli is known as the creator of the first examples of opera, the First musical comedy and a number of other genres in the history of Azerbaijani music, and also laid the foundations for new development paths and a national school of composition in the history of Azerbaijani musical culture.
