Yangon: Myanmar army orders teachers to return to schools to teach The army has called for an end to the protests against the military action.

Teachers went on strike in February 2021 after the army seized power in a military coup. For the past 16 months, the military has been trying to repatriate them, but the teachers’ unions have refused.

The military says it will consider working long hours off as unpaid leave. However, a good percentage of the children have joined the People’s Defense Force, the country’s people’s defense force. Teachers who want to come to work are also reluctant to come because of this fear.
