Teacher’s phone stolen, obscene message in groups; Action against teachers

by time news

Kollam ∙ The police filed a report in the court accusing 2 teachers of stealing the teacher’s phone from the staff room and sending obscene messages on the WhatsApp groups of the school. The action is against Prajeesh, a native of Mainagapally, and Sadia, a native of Thevalakkara, who are teachers of Thevalakara Girls’ High School, which is under the control of the CPM district committee. Both are absconding.

The mobile phone of KS Zoya, daughter of late senior leader E. Kasim and physical education teacher of the school, was stolen and obscene messages were circulated on WhatsApp groups including KSTA, referring to party leaders and teachers of the school. As soon as the phone was lost, the teacher blocked the SIM card and lodged a complaint with the police. But Prajeesh and Sadia, who are accused, did not come to testify and approached the district court for anticipatory bail. After examining the CCTV footage of the school and the phones with the help of cyber experts, the investigation team said that Prajeesh and Sadia were accused and submitted a report to the court.

It is indicated that the phone was completely destroyed after the incident. Prajeesh, who is absconding, is a family member of a party district committee member. Along with the accused, the complainant KS Zoya and the teacher CS Pradeep were suspended by the management on the ground that they acted against the discipline of the school. There is a complaint that this is part of the move to save the accused and the reason is sectarianism within the party.

The CPM-controlled Thevalakara Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools are considering family members of party leaders and leaders of nutritional organizations for appointments. Disputes also arise within party elements over allocation of appointments. The police said that the teachers have been working in various groups in the school for a long time and the disputes and enmity between them have led to the stealing of phones and sending obscene messages.
