The secretary general of the Teachers’ Union, Yaffa Ben-David, said last night: “Finance officials have not presented a single proposal regarding the salaries of teaching staff, and we can not wait any longer. We owe our public clear answers – what will be their pay on September 1st. “

According to Ben-David: “Finance officials bear full responsibility for the sanctions and the collapse of the education system. And the fact that we have not yet received an initial concrete offer from them – is evidence of a tactic of dragging feet that will shatter the entire country inside.”
Ben-David added that “so far we have been very patient because the education system is important to us. At the current pace, the Treasury is urging us to intensify sanctions. It is very sad that the voice of the Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister is not heard.”
