The first days after the university exams this summer for Boryana Markova and Nikola Zarev begin not with the idea of rest, but of new professional challenges. Because their dreams are as big as their desire to develop and work in a strong, motivated and successful team. She is a first-year student, majoring in “Public Relations” at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, and he is a sophomore at the Higher School of Telecommunications and Posts. The two are part of this year’s edition of the FANTASTICO GROUP “Future Team” internship program, along with more of their peers from different universities. The program enables students to gain valuable professional experience and build their knowledge working in FMCG, finance, information technology and human resources.
In their first days as interns at the company’s head office, we meet Boryana and Nikola to tell us about their dreams, successes, curiosity about new technologies and the development of talents in a corporate environment.
“In practice, you come across cases that are specific and extraordinary. They are not exactly described in the textbooks, and I am glad that the work here meets us with various challenges, which in theory do not exist”, says Nikola, who is an intern in the team of the “Information Technologies” Directorate. And he adds: “I want to develop in this direction and that’s why I chose to gain experience.” Working in the company, I have the opportunity to get to know real work and real tasks gradually, step by step.”
Because of her interest in communicating with people, Boryana Markova decided to start an internship in the “Team, training and development” department. Already in the first days in the company, he felt the support of his mentors. “For good work, it is very important to feel supported, to feel calm. In the team so far, I have met with enormous support,” says Boryana. “I definitely see FANTASTICO as my future employer,” she added.
The internship at FANTASTICO also teaches Nikola to be more responsible, and the most important lesson is to work in a team: “My colleagues help me a lot, they teach me new skills. What I have received as knowledge in theory at the vocational high school or university, here I see it in practice”.
In addition to valuable experience, interns will receive an attractive monthly stipend, meal vouchers, a gym discount card, as well as an extensive social benefits package. “All this shows an attitude towards the people who work here – in addition to all social benefits, there are interest clubs here, the opportunity to participate in hiking trips. It can be seen that the company cares about the team,” says Nikola.
The participants in the “Future Team” program also had the opportunity to have an informal conversation with representatives of the company’s management during a specially organized lunch at the MyChoice restaurant.
“It shows that the management is really interested in the new people in the team and it’s quite nice to have the opportunity to meet them, to talk, to feel them as people, as well as to get to know the other interns in the individual directorates”, Nikola adds.
During the meeting, the operational president of FANTASTICO GROUP, Vladimir Nikolov, thanked the students for choosing the company for their internship: “Be active, ask questions and make the most of your time here and the experience of your mentors. We’d love to hear your feedback at the end of your internship and I hope you’ll continue to be part of our team.”
Among the participants in the third edition of the program is Bogdan Rusakov, who until this moment took his first career steps as a student in one of the chain’s supermarkets. After completing his secondary education, he also joined the internship program in the team of the Information Technology Directorate.
Thus, once again “Future Team” will become the most direct way to business for students ready to embark on an exciting summer adventure. And Boryana and Nikola believe that their internship at FANTASTICO is also a path to their dream job.
