London: Brendan Rodgers is out of the coaching position of Leicester City, the former champions of the English Premier League. The team has decided to part ways with the coach in a situation where the situation of the team continues to be miserable in the league.
The club have posted a note on their official Twitter page confirming that they are parting ways with Brendan Rodgers. Leicester City lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace the other day. After that, the coach’s chair fell.
Leicester City are currently 19th in the points table. The team is also under threat of relegation. With this the door to the coach was opened.
The team has only seven wins in 28 matches in the season. Standing at 19th with 25 points with four draws and 17 losses. Southampton are in the bottom 20.
Rogers will become Leicester coach in 2019. Rodgers took his place at Leicester after impressing Scotland team Celtic. The arrival gave Celtic two Premiership titles and a domestic treble.
In 2021, Rodgers managed to make Leicester champions in the FA Cup for the first time in their history. The title was won by defeating Chelsea in the final.
