Tech freaks: Apple, Amazon Alexa, Google Pixel Flip, Tolino E-Books | Life & Knowledge

High-tech for the ears: In the weekly podcast “Tech-Freaks”, the BILD technology reporters Sven Schirmer and Martin Eisenlauer talk about gadgets, games and the wide Internet.

“Alexa, change your voice”

With this voice command, Amazon’s voice assistant can now also be set to a male voice. “The new one” is called Ziggy and has been active in the USA since the summer. Dynamic language selection enables dialogs and communication in parallel in German and English without changing the language settings.

Ziggy should also be a new activation word, but not until 2022. Until then, Alexa, Computer, Echo or Amazon will continue to work, even if Ziggy’s voice is set. Conversely, of course, Ziggy should also be possible as an activation word in the future when the female voice is active.

The tech freaks discuss this news and the fact that Apple is apparently preparing the launch of AR glasses with a whole series of patents.

Further topics: Google Pixel Flip, the new Tolino e-book readers and the question: Can third-party apps make smartphone cameras better?

Have fun!
