The eighth edition of B-Venture, which will be held at the Euskalduna Palace on October 17 and 18, already has protagonists. Once the registration period has ended, the jury of experts has already selected the ‘startups’ that this year will be able to show their business plan in this forum, the largest dedicated to this type of company in the north of Spain and a commitment of EL CORREO to help innovative projects both to take their very first steps and to find the support that will allow them to grow.
As a novelty, this year there will be 27 participating firms. Among them, potential investors and the attending public will be able to find proposals as innovative as those that offer solutions against waste in collective canteens such as those of schools or hospitals, guaranteeing the food safety of the surpluses that can be donated; those that use microalgae as biological filters to reduce gases such as carbon dioxide or use mobile beds of biomass to purify wastewater; those that develop online platforms with content dedicated to improving children’s cognitive development or reducing work stress; those that design furniture that already incorporate –and camouflage– the mobile charger or those specialized in the production of electricity from wind power in urban centers. In addition to health, sustainability or education, among those selected there are also ‘startups’ dedicated to industry, cybersecurity, food or ‘big data’, once again turning the event into a thermometer of innovation, and especially of the R&D generated in the Basque Country, where 19 of the firms come from.
In the two days that the forum lasts, the promoters will be able to meet with representatives of large companies interested in hiring services from leading companies or even in establishing synergies with them to carry out some of their projects, as well as with potential investors summoned by the organizers. In addition, along with the possibility of obtaining financing or establishing business relationships, B-Venture also offers entrepreneurs specialized training at the University of Deusto. This eighth edition is sponsored by the Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment of the Basque Government, the SPRI development agency, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Bilbao City Council, as well as the collaboration of BStartup from Banco Sabadell, BBVA Spark, BBK, Laboral Kutxa, CaixaBank and the University of Deusto.

8. PHYDROGEN ON SITE Solutions to facilitate the use of hydrogen as an energy source for small and medium-sized companies.
9. VENDED Tool for the automation of products, processes and sales channels of online stores.
10. DITTO EDUCATION Audio platform to improve the learning process and cognitive development of children.
11. SAGENSO Cybersecurity tools for the analysis and supervision of possible threats to companies.
12. EMOTIONAL Human resources software to improve the emotional well-being of workers and increase their productivity.
13. GLUCOVIBES Precision nutrition from the monitoring of glucose levels.
14. BIODATA DEVICES Design, development, manufacturing and marketing of telemedicine stations.
15. CIMICO Biological treatment of wastewater from mobile beds of biomass.
