Teen Missing for Eight Years Found Alive, Family Overjoyed
HOUSTON – In a remarkable turn of events, a teenager who had been missing for over eight years has been found alive, according to officials. Rudolph “Rudy” Farias disappeared in March 2015 while walking his dogs in north Houston. Despite his two dogs being located shortly afterward, Farias remained missing until now.
The Texas Center for the Missing, a Houston-based nonprofit organization that works on missing persons cases, made the announcement on Saturday via Twitter. They confirmed that Farias had been “located safe” and was currently recovering in a hospital. While details about his condition were not provided, the organization urged the public to keep Farias’ family in their thoughts and prayers during this time.
“After 8 long years, Rudy has been located safe. Please continue to keep his family in your prayers as Rudy recovers in the hospital,” read the tweet from the Texas Center for the Missing.
Earlier in June, the organization had posted a message on Twitter seeking information about Farias’ whereabouts. They shared a digital flyer with details about his disappearance, including a photograph taken before his disappearance as a teenager. The tweet called on people to help “Bring Him Home.”
The news of Farias’ discovery was confirmed by Tim Miller, an officer with the missing persons division at the Houston Police Department and the founder of the nonprofit Texas EquuSearch. Miller shared the joyous news with local station KHOU.
Farias’ family expressed their relief and overwhelmed emotions about his return. His aunt revealed that his mother is a “mess” but also planned to release a public statement soon. The family had previously voiced concerns that Farias may have been abducted and trafficked, as they believed he would not leave willingly due to his loving and caring nature.
