A teenage British girl who tried to open the emergency door of a plane in flight is being investigated by the police, and is known to have stated that she was disturbed by a ‘coughing sound’.

According to foreign media such as The Sun on the 27th of last month (local time), a commotion occurred on EasyJet Flight EZY8556, which departed from Antalya, Turkey and was heading to Gatwick, England. The flight made an emergency landing at Bari Airport in Italy due to the commotion.

It was reported that the reason the plane had to land so quickly was because a 16-year-old girl made a fuss by trying to open the plane’s emergency door. The girl stated that she heard her ‘little sister coughing’ as the cause of the disturbance.

He shouted, “Stop,” when his 10-year-old sister sitting next to him coughed. When his younger sister went to the bathroom, he followed her and repeatedly told her to “get away from my face” and refused to open the bathroom door.

With the help of the flight attendant, the younger sister returned to her seat, but even after that, the girl continued to stand near the bathroom, swearing at the flight attendants and making threats.

Soon after, the girl continued to engage in dangerous behavior, such as running to the back of the plane and attempting to open the plane’s emergency door. Fortunately, the emergency door lever broke and the door did not open.

When the flight attendants stopped the girl, he threatened them, saying, “I will stab you with a knife,” and continued his rampage, taking off his shoes and throwing them at the passengers.

The pilot decided to make an emergency landing to prevent the girl from going on a rampage and to ensure the safety of the passengers and crew, and the aircraft landed at Bari Airport in Italy.

The girl, who was arrested by airport police, is said to be currently under investigation.

The airline said, “We took measures to ensure the safety of other passengers,” and added, “We resumed operations the next day and provided accommodations and other conveniences to passengers.”
