Teenage Vaccination: Second day of adolescent vaccination; The health department said it had given an additional 98,084 doses

Thiruvananthapuram: The Department of Health has vaccinated 98,084 children between the ages of 15 and 18 in the state on the second day of the Teenage Vaccination. Thrissur district had the highest number of children vaccinated with 16,625 doses. Kannur district came second with 16,475 people vaccinated and Palakkad district came third with 11,098 people vaccinated. With this, a total of 1,36,767 children in the state were vaccinated. In two days, 8.92 per cent of children were vaccinated, the health minister said.

Thiruvananthapuram 8023, Kollam 8955, Pathanamthitta 4383, Alappuzha 10,409, Kottayam 3457, Idukki 5036, Ernakulam 3082, Thrissur 16,625, Palakkad 11,098, Malappuram 2011, Kozhikode 2034, Wayanad 3357, Kannur 16,475 and Kasaragod 3139 were the districts by which vaccines were given.

There were a total of 1645 vaccination centers, including 949 vaccination centers for children and 696 vaccination centers for those over 18 years of age. 98.6 per cent of the population over the age of 18 years should be vaccinated with one dose and 80 per cent with two doses of the vaccine.

As part of the vaccination drive, which will continue till January 10, there will be special vaccination centers for children on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at District, General and Taluk Hospitals and Community Health Centers and on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at Primary and Family Health Centers.
