Police Open Investigation Into Disturbing Incident of Violence Among Teenagers in Petah Tikva
The Petah Tikva police have launched a probe into an alarming incident of violence involving a group of teenagers after a video documenting the incident went viral on social media. The clip shows a gang of boys, one of them wearing a mask, armed with irons and sticks, violently attacking and threatening another teenager. The motive behind the attack appears to be related to a previous conflict between the individuals involved.
In the harrowing video, the assailants can be heard demanding the victim to disclose the address of another boy, claiming that he had “opened up on us” and “whistled.” As they physically assault him, the terrified victim pleads with them to stop, revealing that his mother is currently hospitalized.
As of now, the victim has not filed a formal complaint with the police. Authorities are diligently working to identify both the victim and the suspects involved in the attack, which is believed to have taken place last week. Additional videos have emerged showcasing one of the attackers using a stun gun on the victim and pointing an airsoft gun at another boy’s head.
The footage has garnered shocked reactions on social media platforms. One resident expressed his disbelief, saying, “We are appalled by the malicious actions of the youth in our city.” Another concerned parent lamented, “How did we reach a point where minors are brandishing weapons?”
In response to the disturbing video, Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir has strongly urged the police to take immediate action against the violent youths depicted. Minister Ben Gvir underscored his policy of zero tolerance towards abusive behavior among teenagers and expressed his commitment to putting an end to such incidents.
Mayor Rami Greenberg of Petach Tikva also addressed the distressing episode, stating, “Over the past few hours, a video has circulated on social media depicting a severe case of violence between teenagers. Municipal authorities and law enforcement agencies are actively working together to identify those involved.”
Greenberg further emphasized his condemnation of any form of violence and pledged to take decisive actions against it. He promised to continue investing in educational programs, advocacy efforts, and initiatives promoting a city without violence. Measures such as the addition of more municipal security boats and increased surveillance camera installations will be implemented to eradicate this alarming issue.
The investigation into this shocking incident remains ongoing as the police and community strive to ensure the safety and well-being of all the teenagers involved and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
