Dozens of Maccabi Haifa Fans Arrested with Weapons and Pyrotechnics Ahead of Match

The Tel Aviv District Police took decisive action today by arresting dozens of Maccabi Haifa fans in the Reading area, just hours before the scheduled match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa at Bloomfield Stadium. The fans were found in possession of various items such as attack weapons, pyrotechnic devices, chains, and other accessories.

This comes in the wake of a recent violent confrontation between the fans of the two teams at the National Stadium last month. The incident escalated and turned violent, prompting the police to take preemptive measures ahead of tonight’s game. Approximately 15,000 fans are expected to attend the game, with security personnel being extra vigilant.

A police spokesman commented, “Unfortunately, we again see a small portion of fans who come to the fields with intentions of confrontations and violence and not to watch a football game.” The police made it clear that they will not tolerate any form of violence and will act with zero tolerance toward those who break the law.

All the detainees and the seized means of attack have been transferred to the investigation offices in the Ayalon area. The police continue to emphasize that they will exhaust all legal means to ensure the safety and security of fans during the game.

The protective nets against pyrotechnic devices have been placed in preparation for the game, as Maccabi Tel Aviv expects the game to go without a hitch in this respect. The police are reassuring the public that law and order will be maintained during the game, and they will not allow any injury or risk to fans.
