Tel Aviv, Israel – Aryeh Greenfeld, a 37-year-old resident of Tel Aviv, has been convicted by the District Court after admitting to attacking another passenger on Ayalon routes with a helmet. The incident occurred after the complainant allegedly hit Greenfeld’s scooter with his vehicle, leading to a heated argument between the two parties.

The plea deal reached between Greenfeld’s legal team and the prosecutors from the Tel Aviv District Attorney’s Office (criminal) resulted in an amended indictment, in which Greenfeld confessed to his actions. However, the details regarding the punishment have not been agreed upon as part of the deal.

According to the amended indictment, on November 7, 2022, at approximately 6:00 PM, Greenfeld was riding his scooter in the Eilon lanes when the complainant was driving nearby. Following the alleged collision, both individuals pulled over to exchange details. However, the situation escalated into a verbal altercation, during which the complainant struck Greenfeld once in the face with his fist.

In response, Greenfeld retaliated by repeatedly hitting the complainant in the face with a helmet, even when the victim fell to the ground and attempted to get back up. The complainant lost consciousness and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Medical examinations revealed that he had suffered from bleeding in various areas of his head, as well as fractures in the eye socket, the base of the skull, and other facial regions.

Judge Shai Yaniv ultimately convicted Greenfeld based on his confession. The court will address the matter of punishment in a separate hearing.

Incidents of road rage and physical altercations on Israeli roads have been a cause for concern in recent years. This case serves as a reminder of the potential dangers and consequences that can arise from such confrontations.
