Hyderabad: A government school in Chilpur, Janagama district, Telangana, teaches savings and banking to students between the ages of 10 and 15.

Thus, the students studying in the school started the bank together and managed it themselves. They save the money they pay for household expenses and save it in that bank account.

If you pay here, you will receive a receipt and a withdrawal form. Students are working in the positions of managers, cashiers and bank employees. This bank is named as ‘School Bank of Chilpur’. Bank pass book is provided to the students.

Leela, the principal of the school, told reporters, “The bank officer was brought to the school and the bank was started by the students on October 15 under his guidance. As on the 24th, the students had Rs 41,000 in their bank accounts. The functioning of the bank, the importance of money etc. The students of the school have come to know,” he said.

Parents are praising the headmaster and teachers of this school for encouraging savings among students. Similarly, parents are demanding that ‘school banks’ be started in all government and private schools.
