Telecommunications: with 5G in the spotlight

Before 6G, the future and revolutionary high-speed communication, the battlefield in the telecommunications sector is the 5G deployment. This new technology requires a multi-million dollar investments –in Spain, around 5,000 million euros– for a sector with some flat income. The turnover of all the companies that make up the sector was 32,732 million euros in 2022, 0.2% more than the previous year, with a turnover of retail services which barely grew 0.9%, to 23,138 million euros, according to data from the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC).
