In its firm commitment to the organization’s internal talent, Telefónica has inaugurated the new campus of its corporate university, Universitas, at the company’s headquarters, as a space for the development of talent, progress and diversity within the world Hub of Innovation and Talent that the company launched in October.

This initiative connects with the new ways of working, which consolidate hybrid models, supported by technology and new methodologies, which will allow the transformation that is taking place in the company to be accelerated with the execution of its strategic plan announced in November 2019.

In this way, Universitas reinvents itself, accompanied by the great background acquired during its 15 years of existence, leading and innovating towards a learning ecosystem in which it re-imagines the training of the future and the classroom, aligning itself with the changing environment of digitization and becoming cornerstone for the organization’s talent as a driver of change.

The new Universitas campus has a physical, zoned and reconfigurable learning space of more than 2,000 m2 in Distrito Telefónica, at the same time that it houses the most advanced technology that allows the incorporation of new resources and methodologies that promote new ways of learning to address the personal transformation required by the challenges of the future.

The classrooms themselves already represent a high-impact experience as they have completely disruptive technological equipment, at the level of the most cutting-edge international business schools, which create an immersive student experience both in person and online.

Thus, the new campus has three interactive classrooms. Of which, one deserves to be called the “Aula Magna of the future” in which more than 120 connected people will be able to attend, through the virtual learning environment, which is projected on a 27 m multiscreen. with another 56 students in situ, with completely synchronous interaction and with an open space in stands to follow the training as a listener.

Another one, exclusively for online classes of about 80 people, and a third room with maximum face-to-face capacity through a modular distribution of the needs of the learning process with the possibility of connecting up to 10,000 people.

All this, without forgetting common and staff spaces, such as the recording room and translation booth, which allow exchange and interaction such as multipurpose spaces, classrooms, lobby, cafeteria, etc.

This hybrid learning model enables all of the company’s talent to access, from a single point of access to the Learning Tech Ecosystem which will act as a gateway to the entire corporate training plan of Telefónica, incorporating both the local and global offer, regardless of whether the users are in Brazil, Spain, Germany or in any of the countries in which the telco has operations .

The training offer will range from learning about new digital knowledge to “soft” or “soft skills” that will allow alignment with the culture and values ​​of the company that become the key lever to address the execution of the challenges and objectives that as a company it is proposed.

For this reason, and coinciding with the inauguration of the Universitas campus, the program “Power of Connections” aimed at all employees with the aim of inspiring, connecting and aligning around the purpose, vision and culture of the telco.

The campus thus becomes a liquid, collaborative and cooperative learning space that enables connections between different teams, areas, people… from the entire Telefónica universe, more than 121,000, under flexible schemes in this training-new skills hybridization that will be able to bring out the best of internal talent.
