Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Dorov said today (Monday) in a statement on his behalf that the suspension of the application for use by the Brazilian Supreme Court is because Telegram checked the incorrect email address.
“We seem to have had a problem with emails being sent between our company addresses on telegram.org and the Brazilian Supreme Court,” he said, adding that Telegram had asked the court to send future removal requests to a specific email address – but the court did not and continued to use the address Old email for general use. Because of this, Dorov said, Telegram missed the emails sent, and now its activities have been banned by the court because of that – unless the court goes back on it.
