Chennai: According to the Met Office, the temperature in Tamil Nadu will be 5 degrees Fahrenheit for the next two days.

Chennai Meteorological Center Director P. Senthamarai Kannan issued a press release in this regard: The maximum temperature in one or two places in Tamil Nadu is likely to rise to 5 degrees Fahrenheit for the next 2 days. The sky will be partly cloudy in Chennai. Temperatures can range from 82 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Moderate rain: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in one or two places in the southern coastal districts and inner districts of Tamil Nadu on May 2 (today) due to the prevailing atmospheric circulation and convection over parts of Tamil Nadu. Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karaikal on the 3rd, 4th and 5th. Thus it is said.

During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on May 1 (yesterday), maximum rainfall of 3 cm was recorded at Dhenkanikottai in Krishnagiri district, 2 cm at Kudalur Bazaar in Nilgiris district and 1 cm at Devala and Krishnagiri district at Thali. Rain has been reported.
