Tempest Hwarang (23, real name Song Jae-won), who had temporarily suspended his activities due to controversy over his private life, has finally left the team.

On the 11th, the agency, Above Entertainment, posted a message on the official fan cafe and stated, “We have been having in-depth discussions with Hwarang regarding his future activities and career path, and after careful consideration, we have mutually agreed to conclude his activities as a member of Tempest and terminate his exclusive contract with us.”

He continued, “We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the fans who have supported Hwarang so far, and we ask for your continued support for Hwarang’s future endeavors as they embark on a new journey.” He continued, “We will also respond strongly to the spread of false information and speculation about our artists, and we ask for your interest and love for Tempest, who will be greeting you through ‘Road to Kingdom.’”

In February of this year, Hwarang caused controversy when, during a video call fan signing, a fan told him that they had seen him at a club, and he admitted it and said, “I did not do anything bad.” At the time, his agency released a statement saying, “Hwarang is deeply reflecting,” but in March, they announced Hwarang’s hiatus, saying, “We have been having in-depth discussions with Hwarang about his future activities due to issues related to his private life, but Hwarang was unable to restore trust during this process.” In the end, Hwarang left Tempest after about five months of hiatus.

Meanwhile, with Hwarang’s departure, Tempest has been reorganized into a six-member lineup. Tempest will appear on Mnet’s ‘Road to Kingdom: Ace of Aces’ in September.
