jpnn.com – The Temporary Leadership of the DKI Jakarta DPRD asked the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to extend the term of office of Heru Budi Hartono as Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta.

It is known that Heru’s term of office as Acting Governor of DKI will end on October 17, 2024.

This is stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs (Permendagri) Number 4 of 2023, that the term of office of the Acting Governor is only one year and can be extended for another year.

Temporary Deputy Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Jhonny Simanjuntak, said that although according to the rules, Heru’s term of office will end on October 17, the government could extend his term of office.

According to him, there are many things that the government could consider in extending Heru’s term as Acting Governor.

First, the end of Heru’s term of office with the scheduled inauguration of the Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta resulting from the regional elections is no more than six months.

Voting will be held on November 27, 2024, while the inauguration of the definitive regional head and deputy regional head will be around January 2025.

“From my point of view, he only has 3-4 months left, I think from my personal opinion, he (Heru) should continue as Acting Governor,” said Jhonny on Friday (6/9).
