Alappuzha: Kayamkulam taluk hospital doctor committed suicide. Doctor Sreeraj, who was temporarily appointed by the Kayamkulam Municipal Corporation to the hospital’s evening OP, committed suicide. He is a native of Kayamkulam Kirakadavam. His mother died nearby. It is reported that Sriraj was deeply depressed after this. It is also thought that suicide may be due to this depression. Police registered a case and started investigation.

Meanwhile, assistant surgeon Dr Chandni Mohan (34) of Piravam Taluk Hospital passed away. He died at the Kalamasery Medical College Hospital. The cremation will take place today at 5 pm at the Ernakulam Pachalam Crematorium. Husband is Dr. Hiran Ramanan, Assistant Professor, Department of ENT, Travancore Medical College, Kollam. She was the daughter of retired High Court judge Justice VK Mohanan, chairman of the Police Complaints Authority, and Geetha, a co-operative assistant registrar.
