Mazoni’s -temporary- farewell, the debut of Tom Jones at the Porta Ferrada festival and tenor Javier Camarena at the Girona Auditorium or a concert by Jarabe de Palo in tribute to Pau Donés are some of the concerts you need to start marking on the 2024 calendar.

Waiting for the great summer festivals of the Costa Brava to publish their full line-up -only Porta Ferrada and Sons del Món have started to show their cards-, here is a first round of ten musical proposals that will have to be taken into account next year.

The prestigious tenor Javier Camarena will open the season at the Girona Auditorium with a lyrical recital in which he will present The dream, his last work, with works by Tosti. The Mexican, who will debut in the room on January 14, will be accompanied by the Cuban pianist Àngel Rodríguez.

After celebrating his twenty year career, Jaume Pla asks for time out. Before this stop, which he himself has already announced is temporary because he plans to return, Mazoni will offer a special concert in Girona on January 26, as part of the Neu! festival.

The colleagues of Pau Donés in Jarabe de Palo pay tribute to the singer with a tour of eighteen stages throughout the State. They will stop on February 23 at the La Mirona hall in Salt, in a concert in which seventeen Donés compositions will be played by his musicians and by three vocalists from a casting among young talents.

The winner of three Grammy awards Dee Dee Bridgewater will be one of the highlights of the next edition of the Black Music Festival. He will return to the Girona Auditorium on March 9, sharing the stage with the Girona Jazz Project to revisit one of his most acclaimed projects, Dee Dee’s Feathers.

The Peralada festival consolidates its Easter edition with a second edition with six proposals from March 28 to 30. The closing concert will be the debut in the State of the Korean Yunchan Lim, a young pianist who has already performed at Carnegie Hall and with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Paris Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic.

One of the best international batons, Susanna Mälkii, will lead the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the Girona Auditorium. It will be on April 7, with a program with Paintings from an exhibition by Mussorgsky and the Violin Concerto by Sibelius, with Kai Gleusteen as soloist.

The singer of Manel, Guillem Gisbert, will twice fill the steps of the Cathedral of Girona with his new solo project. The double concert on May 4, which sold out in no time, will be one of the important dates of the twelfth Strenes festival, together with a performance by Oques Grasses that is expected to be massive on April 27 at the Palau Feral.

Gisbert has also announced dates at the Porta Ferrada festival and the Portalblau de l’Escala.

A Sant Joan revetlla with three of the artists of urban music in Catalan at the moment is what Ítaca has named Catalan Dream. The date, announced in Times Square, will be on June 23 at Estartit beach, on the only occasion that The Tyets, Mushka and Julieta will meet this summer. The day before, Arde Bogotá and Cala Vento will perform on the same stage.

He has performed at the Cap Roig, Peralada and Sons del Món de Roses festivals, but Tom Jones has never yet sung in front of the Porta Ferrada audience. On July 26, he will settle the outstanding debt with the Sant Feliu contest, in one of the first concerts announced for the 62nd edition.

The singer Anastacia breaks six years of recording silence with Our songs, his eighth album. He will present it in a single performance in Catalonia this summer: on August 8 at the Ciutadella de Roses, as part of the Sons del Món programme.
