Last Friday, August 16, the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, reported that the Trident Naval Task Force intercepted three drug vessels in the Jaltepeque Estuary, La Paz.
The Minister of National Defense, René Merino Monroy, provided details on the most recent drug seizure carried out by the National Navy, 1,004 nautical miles (1,859 km) from our coasts, establishing a new distance record in these operations.
The official provided details of the location of ten crew members: three Guatemalans, four Ecuadorians and three Mexicans, who were on board the vessels involved in the operation. pic.twitter.com/LkTKjxq3qJ
These three vessels were manned by three Guatemalans, three Mexicans and four Ecuadorians, transporting more than 1,200 kg of drugs and a shipment of high-caliber weapons.
“In 90 days we have made 7 important seizures,” said the Minister of Defense.
