Upputhara: In Idukki, a young woman was found dead at her husband’s house. Sheeja MK (27), wife of Jobish PS, Vazhaparambil, committed suicide in the 10th month after her marriage at Puthanveet in Upputhara Valakoda. At the same time, the relatives of Sheeja came forward alleging that there was a mystery in Sheeja’s death.
Jobish and Sheeja got married on November 13, 2011. Sheeja has previously told her brother that her husband is constantly harassing her and that her husband’s parents are also fighting with her. Brother Arun says that Sheeja has complained to him about this. Relatives say that there is a mystery in Sheeja’s death and they will file a complaint with the police.
Relatives alleged that Jobish used to get into drunken fights with Sheeja. Sheeja was in her own home for two weeks before Onam. Sheeja, who went to Elapara with her relatives the other day, was picked up by Jobish from there. On Tiruvona day, he took Sheeja to his house in Helibaria in the afternoon but returned in the evening. Arun reached his home in Valakot yesterday morning at 9.40 am as called by Jobish. When I inquired about Sheeja, I was told that she was in the hospital. Arun came to know about his sister’s death when he reached the hospital.
Many times the problems arising with Jobish Sheeja were solved with the intervention of relatives. The brother said that Sheeja would often say that she was tired of life and that it was difficult to believe what her husband’s family was saying about her death. The family is planning to approach the police, pointing out that there is something unusual about the death of her sister. Sheeja’s body has been kept in Upputhara Government Hospital Mortuary. The body will be shifted to Idukki Medical College today for post-mortem. Police and tehsildar hospital took further steps.
