MERANO. In the context of the action of closeness and support to the Ukrainian Police desired and implemented by the Chief of Police – Director General of Public Security, Prefect Vittorio Pisanilast week a particularly awaited and significant event took place in Merano. The State Police, in fact, has hosted 10 Ukrainian children, aged between 7 and 12 yearswho, together with their mothers, spent a week in Alto Adige at the Stifterhof Castle, the mountain holiday center of the State Police located in Maia Alta.
The little ones and mothers, coming from the Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kiev regions, are all orphans of Ukrainian policemen who died on the Donbass front during the war and, thanks to the hospitality of the State Police, they were able to spend a period of tranquility far from the horrors and deprivations of war.
During the week, the Bolzano Police Headquarters organized a series of events to make the period of stay engaging, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Merano, the Merano Thermal Baths, the Merano Racecourse, the “Obermais” Sports Structure of Merano, of the Archaeological Museum of Alto Adige, of the Muse of Trento and of the Thun and Loacker companies.
The police commissioner of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartoriin an event organized at the beginning of the stay at the Stifterhof Castle in the presence of the deputy mayor of Merano Katarina ZellerOf Eufemia Espositosenior manager of the State Police, and other local authorities, greeted the little guests, wishing them a peaceful and joyful stay in Alto Adige.
Dr. Esposito, in offering the Chief of Police’s greetings, addressed her colleague Olena Laschukresponsible for the International Relations of the Ukrainian Police, and to all the guests the best wishes for a rapid conclusion of the conflict and the testimony of the concrete support of the State Police, an institution symbol of the defense of the principles of freedom and the inviolable rights of the person.
