Ramat Gan, Israel – A ten-year-old boy riding an electric scooter was struck by a car today, resulting in serious injuries and blurred consciousness. Another 13-year-old boy also sustained moderate injuries in the accident, with a bruise on his head. Both victims were promptly evacuated by Magen David Adom (MDA) teams to Sheba hospitals in Tel Hashomer and Ichilov in Tel Aviv.

According to medic Shai Bakar, who provided medical assistance at the scene, “Upon our arrival, we found the scooter rider lying unconscious on the road, suffering from multiple injuries. The other rider was walking but had a head injury. We provided them with immediate medical treatment and subsequently transferred them to the hospitals.”

In separate incidents earlier in the day, a 30-year-old electric scooter rider slipped on Uzi Hitman Street in Acre, resulting in moderate injuries. The individual was transported to Western Galilee Hospital in Nahariya for treatment of limb injuries. Similarly, a cyclist in their 30s slipped while riding an electric bicycle on a city road in Petah Tikva. They were taken to Beilinson Hospital in moderate condition, suffering from a head injury.

In Jerusalem, a 14-year-old girl was involved in a bicycle accident, sustaining moderate injuries to her abdomen and limbs. She was promptly transferred to Shaare Zedek Hospital for further treatment. Later that evening, a 26-year-old motorcyclist slipped in an open area near Halutza Sands. The individual’s condition was assessed as moderate, and MDA teams evacuated them via helicopter to Soroka Hospital for specialized care due to a back injury.

In yet another incident, a 25-year-old man was moderately injured in a collision between two vehicles on Route 85 near the Nahal Amud interchange. MDA teams evacuated him to Ziv Hospital in Safed to receive treatment for chest and abdominal injuries. Additionally, a 49-year-old woman sustained minor injuries as a result of the same accident.

Authorities have expressed concern over the increasing number of accidents involving electric scooters and bicycles. They urge riders to adhere to safety regulations, such as wearing helmets, maintaining proper balance, and following traffic rules.

The incidents highlight the need for enhanced safety measures and educational campaigns to prevent further accidents and better protect individuals using alternative transportation methods.
