Tenants may request precise invoices from Vonovia

by time news

Berlin – Tenant representatives repeatedly accuse Vonovia, the largest listed housing group in Germany, for non-transparent operating cost bills. Now the tenants have achieved partial success in court. The Federal Court of Justice (BGH) has obliged Vonovia to be more transparent when calculating caretaker activities. Vonovia must then allow tenants to inspect invoices from a subcontractor that has been commissioned by a Vonovia subsidiary to carry out caretaking activities. This emerges from a judgment of the Federal Court of Justice of October 27, which was published last week (VIII ZR 114/21). Thousands of tenants could be affected.
