Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has made a big disclosure in the tender scam. ED says that in this scam, officers used to take more commission than ministers. During ED interrogation, many engineers including the Chief Engineer told that his PS Sanjeev Lal used to collect money for Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam. In this, the minister’s share was 1.35 percent, while officers and engineers used to take 1.65 percent commission. ED is investigating the commission game that goes on after giving the tender. ED has made this disclosure in this connection.

According to media reports, the engineers told ED that after the letter of allocation (LOA) was issued in Rural Development Department, Rural Works Department, Jharkhand State Rural Road Development Authority (JSRRDA) and Rural Development Special Division (RDSD), the assistant or executive engineers used to charge 3 to 4 percent commission. In this, the commission of the then Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam was fixed at 1.35 percent. The remaining 1.65 percent commission was divided among the engineers and other officers.

PS used to collect commission for Alamgir Alam

During ED interrogation, the engineers also revealed that commission amount for minister Alamgir was collected by his PS Sanjeev Lal. The remaining commission was collected by the Chief Engineer himself. Sanjeev Lal collected commission from the contractors through the contractor and his friend Munna Singh and his brother Santosh Singh. After this, this amount was given to Jahangir Alam near Deendayal Nagar or Abhinandan Marriage Hall. Jahangir used to keep this money in his flat located in Sir Syed Residency. The seized Rs 32.20 crore was recovered from Jahangir’s flat.

Contractor Munna Singh admitted to taking Rs 53 crore

ED has also claimed that contractor Munna Singh has confessed that he had taken about Rs 53 crore from several people on the instructions of Sanjeev Lal. Munna gave all this money to Jahangir. Sanjeev kept Rs 2.05 crore from the amount collected. He spent Rs 40 lakh on his house in Sanskriti Vihar, Bariatu. Munna Singh also told that Sanjeev had given him Rs 50 lakh in cash.
