Chennai, : In the ‘League’ match of Women’s ‘T-20’ Cricket Tournament at State level yesterday, Tenkasi Golden Girls won a great victory. The first annual Leela Krishnan Memorial Women’s ‘T-20’ was organized by Vellar Cricket Ground in Kalampattu Village, Vellore. A cricket match is going on. Six teams from the districts of Chennai, Coimbatore, Tenkasi and Hosur are playing in this state-level competition. In yesterday’s league match, Golden Girls team from Tenkasi and Hosur HRCA clashed. Batting first, the Golden Girls scored 122 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 18 overs. Team player G. Kamalini scored an unbeaten 65 runs. Another player Raghavi scored 30 runs. HRCA, who came into the field with a target of 123 runs, lost 7 wickets in 18 overs and scored only 83 runs. The loss was HRCA’s third consecutive defeat for the team. Kamalini won the man of the match award. In the next league matches, Arakkonam Smiling Pearls team, HRCA team; Chennai DRC team won by defeating WOFCC team from Coimbatore.
