Tennessee Teacher Faces New Charges of Aggravated Stalking, Harassment, and Coercion

A Tennessee teacher who was previously arrested on charges of raping a boy at her home is now facing additional criminal charges, including aggravated stalking, harassment, and coercion of a witness. Alissa McCommon, a 38-year-old fourth-grade teacher at Charger Academy, was arrested on Thursday after new allegations surfaced of sexual misconduct and inappropriate contact with children under 18.

The Covington Police Department first arrested McCommon on September 8, following numerous accusations against her. She was released on a $25,000 bond, with the condition that she could not have contact with the victim or any minor other than her own children.

However, it appears that McCommon violated these conditions, as she was caught texting the victim from an unknown phone number on Thursday. In the messages, she threatened the victim, stating that he would “regret doing this.” The Covington Police Department revealed that McCommon used a code word to determine if the victim was alone and would then send explicit photos on SnapChat. Additionally, McCommon admitted to a sexual encounter with the boy.

Covington Police Chief Donna Turner expressed concern over McCommon’s apparent violation of her bond conditions and suggested that others may have been contacted as well. The police department is working closely with the District Attorney’s Office to consider revoking McCommon’s bond and adding further charges.

McCommon was arrested at her Covington home and is currently being held without bond at the Tipton County jail. The investigation into her alleged misconduct continues, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.

The Charger Academy, where McCommon worked, has not made an official statement regarding the situation. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of students, and the need for thorough background checks and monitoring within educational institutions.
