Tennis: Fiona Ferro accuses her former coach, Pierre Bouteyre, of rape and sexual assault

by time news

Fiona Ferro filed a complaint against Pierre Bouteyre in February at the Fréjus police station. According to information from Nice-Matin, she accuses him of several rapes and sexual assaults during an internship in Saint-Raphaël. The facts were allegedly committed between 2012 and 2015, when the tennis player was only between 15 and 18 years old. Pierre Bouteyre, 50, was indicted in mid-August for rape and sexual assault by a person in authority.

He has been placed under judicial supervision since his indictment. He “recognizes the materiality of the facts but disputes the accusations of rape”, explains his lawyer Me Virginie Pin. In other words, the one who trained Alizé Cornet in his early days, evokes agreed relationships. The former tennis player is prohibited from contacting Fiona Ferro. Pierre Bouteyre can continue his professional activity but is not authorized to coach minors. His indictment is accompanied by an obligation of care.

Fiona Ferro, 259th player in the world and now coached by Emmanuel Planque, was eliminated in the first round of qualifying for the US Open against Briton Katie Boulter. She announced that she wanted to leave Nice in the coming days to join a club in the Paris region.

Investigators are now trying to find out if similar acts have been committed on other players, while Pierre Bouteyre will undergo psychological and psychiatric expertise in the coming days.
