The Sardinia Open comes to life, the men’s tennis circuit hosted in Cagliari, which has become the ATP Challenger 175 tournament in 2023. Lorenzo Musetti was the protagonist yesterday: the young Italian talent beat the Portuguese Nuno Borges with a good comeback, reaching the semi-finals.
Also in the semifinals is Luciano Darderi, who took advantage of Federico Coria’s withdrawal and will now have to deal with the Argentine tennis player Mariano Navone. For Musetti, however, the opponent will be the Colombian Daniel Elahi Galán, number 54 in the world.
If the 2002 class starts as favorite with Galán, Darderi’s arrival in the final appears more complicated. The challenges this afternoon: Musetti at 3pm, while Darderi will have to wait until 4.20pm. Once the double match is over, the finalists will be decided and will compete tomorrow at a time yet to be defined.
