tense demonstrations after the adoption of the pension reform

The adoption of the pension reform following the rejection of the motion of censure provoked numerous demonstrations interspersed with incidents throughout France on Monday, March 20.

In Paris, a few hundred people first gathered not far from the National Assembly before being channeled by the police. Then trash fires and clashes with the police took place in the Saint-Lazare station district (9^e district), around the Place de l’Opéra.

Nearly 300 people were arrested during the evening, including 234 in Paris.
