There is heavy traffic at some of the border points with Romania for trucks and cars. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Border Police (GDP) on its website. The information on border traffic is at 6 o’clock, BTA reports.

On the border with Romania, traffic is intense at the Vidin and Kardam border checkpoints (BCPs) at the exit for trucks and cars. Border authorities recommend using alternative routes.

Due to the low level of the Danube River, the ferry platform at the Oryahovo border crossing is still not working.

A temporary organization of the traffic has been introduced due to the main repair of the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge near Ruse. The traffic takes place in one lane with a through mode and is regulated by a traffic light system. In addition to the “Ruse” border crossing, drivers in the region can also go to the “Silistra” border crossing, the “Kardam” border crossing, the “Durankulak” border crossing, the “Kainardja” border crossing and the “Krushari” border crossing. The last two are open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day, and trucks are not allowed through them.

On the border with Greece, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints.

In connection with the significantly increased passage of the large number of Romanian tourists traveling to and from Greece through the “Kulata” and “Makaza” border crossing points, the State Police advises to use alternative checkpoints on the Bulgarian-Greek border, which are less busy and allow faster passage.

Tourists traveling to resorts in the area of ​​Thessaloniki, Kavala and the Halkidiki Peninsula can pass through the Ilinden border crossing as an alternative to the Kulata border crossing. Tourists traveling to resorts in the area of ​​Xanthi, Komotini and o. Thassos, can use the “Zlatograd” checkpoint as an alternative to the “Makaza” checkpoint. For resorts in the area of ​​Alexandroupolis, it is recommended to pass through the “Captain Petko Voivoda” checkpoint.

Only cars and minibuses are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad border crossing points.

On the borders with Serbia and Turkey, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints.

On the border with the Republic of North Macedonia, traffic is also normal at all border checkpoints.

At the end of August, the implementation of the activities under the contract related to the construction of the European Union (EU) Entry/Exit System began at the Gueshevo border crossing, the Border Police recalled. The cabins for border checks of passing trucks will be dismantled and replaced with new ones. Temporarily, the traffic of passing trucks will be diverted through the lanes for the passing of passenger cars. Certain difficulties are possible when crossing the Gueshevo border crossing.
