Anger of the Plakias family over the honors given to officials. Silent protest in Larissa by the relatives of the deceased Claudia

The anger of the Plakias family, who lost three girls in the tragedy of Tempe, was met by military and firemen who paid respects to the officials during yesterday’s parade in Trikala, while at the same time school students from the city responded to the appeal of the relatives and did not turn the head, disapproving of them.

The members of the Plakias family could not stand it, seeing military personnel paying their respects and hearing a Fire Department vehicle honking its horn in front of the officials, including the Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas. On the contrary, the MP of New Democracy Katerina Papakosta, who was a member of the Investigative Committee of the Parliament which exonerated the former Minister of Transport Costas Ah. Karamanlis, did not attend, following a public appeal by the family not to be present at the parade.

Hearing the honking of the fire engine and the salutes from the military, Dimitris, Nikos and Sofia Plakia addressed the highest military officers who did not respect the drama they are experiencing. Police removed a relative who approached a high-ranking Army officer, removing his ration and shouting “prostrate on the platform”. “On the fateful night, they let our children burn and come here and blow their horns,” one father commented on the action of the firefighters.

“All the youth passed by and no one turned to look, because there is no reason. We saw it in the children’s faces. But when the entire SMY and the Fire Department pass by and pray in front of them, where do we go?” asked Sofia Plakia. “Parent was the fireman in there and he was sitting on top and watching,” he added. After a while, the mother of one of the girls who went missing in Tempe clapped ironically at the officials, while shots were fired at the prosecutor who was present at the parade. Earlier they had placed 57 flowers, as many as the victims of the train accident, on the official platform.

In Larissa, the relatives of the deceased student Claudia Lata, who was killed in Tempi, attended the parade, making a silent protest in front of the official platform. In front was Alma Lata, Claudia’s mother, holding a few flowers and a piece of paper with the word “Justice” written in capital letters. The overjoyed mother addressed the present Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou, telling him “Do your duty”.
