“Parakhodstvo BMF” received a tenth new ship, the company announced. After “Rodina”, “Bulgaria” and “Trapezitsa”, on July 23, 2024, at the Chinese shipyard Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding, the flag of the fourth for this year and the tenth of the “Plan” series of 45,000-ton bulk carriers was raised.

The ship bears the name “Tsarevets”, making it the second in the company’s history with that name. The first, a 20,500-ton bulk carrier of the “Sakar” series, was accepted by the BMF on November 27, 1998. Under the command of k .d.p. Petko Petkov’s first flight is to the Ukrainian port of Berdyansk. This vessel was in the composition of the BMF until April 3, 2020, when it was sold to another shipping company.

The steamboat industry points out that for every Bulgarian, Tsarevets is not only a hill in Veliko Tarnovo, a fortress in the old capital of Tarnovgrad, but also a peak in the history of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom (1185-1396).

The captain of the new “Tsarevets” is K.D. Ivan Kiryakov, who has proven his professionalism for 25 years in the BMF. The chief mechanic is Eng. Atanas Naydenov – an established specialist in the operation of this type of engines and mechanisms.

The entry into operation of “Tsarevets” is another proof of the consistent policy of the management of the BMF to constantly react to changes in the freight market and to defend the conquered positions there. That is why the renewal of the fleet continues.

By the end of the year, the m/k “Koznitsa” will also be received – a representative of the other successful series of 32,000-ton lakers, capable of sailing in the Great American Lakes, with which the current 2024 will be recorded in the history of the 132-year-old company as the year with the most newly received ships, the company added.

In 2025, three more of this series are expected, and by the end of 2026, the new type of lakers will become a total of 15. The series of 45,000-ton ships will be supplemented by 3 more in 2027, with the expected total of 10 new vessels BMF plans to further increase its tonnage, keeping the average age of the fleet at 7 years.
