A railway workers’ strike began on Sunday evening in New Aquitaine after a call for mobilization by the CGT des Cheminots de Bordeaux. Several disruptions are expected on regional train lines until Tuesday morning.
Railway workers began a strike movement in New Aquitaine on Sunday at the call of the CGT. The strike only concerns regional trains and will normally last until Tuesday 8 a.m.
The SNCF informs on its site that the lines L11 Poitiers-Tours, L12 Poitiers-Angoulême, L14 Poitiers-La Rochelle and L24 Limoges-Poitiers will be disrupted. On the Limoges-Poitiers and Poitiers-Angoulême lines, several buses replace the trains usually in circulation. The SNCF also specifies that Transport on demand (TAD) and the usual coaches normally circulate between these cities. However, the railway company recommends anticipating or postponing travel.

In a press release published on June 10 on its Facebook page, the Sector-CGT Cheminots Bordeaux called on railway workers to demonstrate in front of Bordeaux station, this June 20, at 10:30 a.m. This press release denouncingthe future TER convention in New Aquitaine” explain that “ the Regional Council does not hide its desire to gradually open lots to other rail operators“. The press release states that, on the Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes perimeter, around 2,800 railway workers risk “transfer to private operators or dedicated subsidiaries».
